New 3610 Independent Advocacy Qualification
Launch date February 2013

Acts Ltd are proud to have been the consultants for, and writers of, this new qualification. The qualificaton will be launched by City & Guilds in February 2013. We look forward to receiving enrolments from advocates who already hold the Certificate who wish to gain the new Diploma, and from all those interested in the new Award and the two new legislation units. 301,304,311 and 312 are now available to interested professionals and those with an interest in Independent Advocacy but who are not yet employed or volunteering for an Independent Advocacy Service.


 
Helen Coombes
Wins Medal for Excellence for 2012/2013

Helen Coombes completed her full Independent Advocacy Certificate (Providing Independent Advocacy for Adults) in September 2012. This involved completing all four core units and the Adult specialist unit. Her portfolio was deemed outstanding by the Internal Verifier and nominated to the Medal for Excellence Team at City & Guilds. In December 2012  we were notified that Helen is a winner and she will be attending the Lion Awards Ceremony at the Round House in London on June 5th 2013. ACTS will also be there to support her. ACTS will also be receiving a Certificate which recognises our high standard of teaching and training.


 
3rd Medal for Excellence for ACTS!
Ian Reynolds wins Medal for Excellence 2013/14

Ian Reynolds, independent advocate at Carer's Rights in Truro, Cornwall, has been awarded a Medal for Excellence for his Certificate in Independent Advocacy. Well done Ian, many congratulations! Ian will now go forward to compete for the Lions Awards at the Round House in Cambden, London on June 5th.

Lindsey Latimer wins City & Guilds Medal for Excellence
Award ceremony in Bristol on April 30th 2015

We are proud to announce that Lindsey Latimer has won a Medal for Excellence for her outstanding evidence provided for her Independent Advocacy Certificate gained in 2014. We are looking forward to the Award Ceremony to be held in April 2015. Lindsey is now one of a line of advocates who have studied for the Independent Advocacy qualification with ACTS Ltd and who have been awarded medals by City & Guilds. This, City & Guilds says, reflects the exceptionally high standard of teaching and assessing provided by ACTS Ltd. All the portfolios sampled by the External Consultant, Anthony Snell, in 2014 were deemed to by very good to outstanding.

Unit 313 Providing Independent Advocacy support under the Care Act 2014 is now available using Distance Learning.
